Dear Members,
There’s no sugar-coating it - in our 150th year our industry is under severe trauma like conditions that we have never seen before. Put simply Victoria is a shambles.
From legislative changes in the Domestic Building Contracts Act and the Building Act, to skyrocketing insurance premiums, regulatory overreach, and unsustainable compliance burdens - what used to be a thriving space for builders and trades has become a battleground for survival. Skilled tradespeople are leaving. Domestic builders are folding. Confidence is low.
In the middle of all this, Master Builders Victoria must be a pillar of clarity, strength and leadership. That's why I've put my hand up to serve as your President.
Why I'm Standing
After more than 30 years in the building industry, I’ve seen the cycles - but this moment is different. It’s not just market pressure. It’s systemic neglect. Reforms are being made without proper consultation, often by people who’ve never run a building business and that has to stop.
I've already started working alongside peers like Glenn Jones (Boston Group) and Past Presidents and others to expand apprenticeship pathways and training opportunities that feed directly back into industry needs - not government paperwork or spin.
We need an Association that gets on the front foot and protects the long-term interests of its members.
What I Stand For - Practical Advocacy and Action
Strong & Stable Management: Bringing a calm, capable Leadership Team to the helm - no more distractions, just ACTION WITH PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS.
Transparency: Open books. Open decisions. Honest dialogue with members.
Member Unity: Ending division. One voice for small, regional and Tier 1 builders.
Support: Tools that work. Advocacy that gets heard. Real protection when it matters.
This isn't just a campaign: it's a commitment to refocus MBAV on members, not politics.

How The AEC Stage 1 of this Election Works
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has commenced Stage 1 of the 2025 MBAV Elections.
As a Member, you'll soon receive ballot papers via Australia Post asking you to vote for candidates in your relevant Sector Group (General Contracting, Housing or Specialist Contracting). Three Sector Groups only as it's been very comforting that many Members have put forward their nomination for our great Association but constitutionally you may only vote for up to 7 candidates in your particular sector group.
Please compare the AEC Mailed List of Candidates as they are different from my endorsed Candidates below.
I respectfully ask you to support me and the team of like-minded, experienced professionals I endorse below. Together, we can bring MBAV back to what it was meant to be: a Strong advocate, a protector, and a partner to its members.
