Dear Councillors and Members,

On behalf of Team Peluso, I'd like to introduce Steven Peluso, candidate for President of Master Builders Association of Victoria 2025.

First, Steven congratulates all Electoral Council members on your appointments and thanks you for your ongoing service to our industry. He’s looking forward to working collaboratively with you to strengthen MBAV and rebuild Victoria into a fairer, more sustainable trading environment for Builders, Contractors, and your Families.

Still Wearing Boots — Even in the Boardroom

Steven's story is one many of us know well. Starting on the tools at sixteen he learned the trade the hard way - through long days, night school and determination.

He's now led Master Menders Building Group to deliver more than $175 million in rectification and rebuilds for families affected by builder collapses and defects. These experiences shaped a leader who has never lost touch with the reality on-site.

He's served across our sector for more than three decades - on the MBAV Board and Housing Committee, Master Builders Insurance, the Building Practitioners Board and several not-for-profit foundations - always advocating for accountability, apprenticeship growth and better protection for builders and homeowners alike.

Steven's Focus as President will be simple - to bring members back to the centre core of MBAV by working with government and regulators on practical solutions:

  • Strengthening Apprenticeship and Mentoring Pathways and Retention
  • Addressing Builder Insolvency and fairer Dispute Resolution Processes
  • Ensuring regulatory and insurance reform support do not punish small builders
  • Cutting red tape and rebuilding trust between MBAV, government and the industry and returning prosperity to our Members and their families.

Steven is totally committed to "Members Come First" and he believes MBAV's next chapter should be defined by unity, transparency and action, not politics.

Steven Peluso has the experience and the energy along with a very capable team to continue with "MBV Building a Better World" programs.

He will be honoured to earn your vote & support as President of MBAV 2025.
